Does It Cost More To Smog An RV Than A Regular Car?

Just wondering if it costs more to smog check an RV than a regular car, and if so, usually how much more? What's a fair price to get my RV smog tested? Thanks.

Normally it costs more the smog check an RV than an ordinary sized vehicle. The reason being, often smog stations which can accommodate RVs and motor homes pay higher rent because of their square footage. Also, performing the smog check on an RV may be more time consuming considering a “dog house” or engine cover that might require removal as well as visually inspecting required smog components may be more difficult due to access. The higher fee for inspecting RVs subsidizes these costs. On average a smog check on an RV or motor home costs between $89.95 to $125.00, plus state fee. posted by SmogTips Support
