Do I Need to Complete the Drive Cycle?

It's hard to perform a complete drive cycle. Do I have to do a complete drive cycle before I go into a smog check station (either a test only center or test and repair smog station) or will they complete the drive cycle for me?

Answer:

A test only center can not perform any smog check related repairs, including setting or completing emission monitors. A smog test and repair station is allowed to perform smog related repairs and as such is allowed to perform a vehicle drive cycle, however they will not perform the service for free, as it is time consuming. We'd recommend contacting local smog stations' to inquire about their fees. posted by SmogTips Support
