1998 Lexus ES300 Never Received DMV Renewal Notice

I don't have my DMV registration renewal notice. It was never sent to me. I called the DMV and they said I need a STAR smog test. But since I don't have my paperwork in hand will this be a problem? Can I still get my Lexus smog checked without the renewal notice?
Answer:

No need to worry. You can visit any STAR certified smog test center without your DMV renewal notice. The smog technician only needs your vehicle's odometer reading and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which he or she can get from your vehicle's identification sticker and/or registration card. posted by SmogTips Support
