2006 Ford Explorer How Likely Is It To Pass?

I'm looking at purchasing a 2006 Ford Explorer, v6, but I will be moving to Los Angeles at the beginning of December. If the car has been maintained in good condition, would there be any challenges passing the smog test? Also, what questions should I ask to better understand how likely it is to pass?
Answer:

So long as the vehicle has been fairly well maintained, the check engine light is not on, and the SUV has not had its emission systems tamper with, the chances of passing the California smog check are fairly good. California no longer inspects 2000 and newer gasoline powered vehicles using a sample of the vehicle's exhaust emissions. The smog inspection solely consists of a visual inspection by a smog check technician for defecting, disconnected, missing or tamper with emission components, and an inspection of the check engine light and emission computer system. You should ask the seller if he/she has every tampered with the vehicle's engine, i.e. added any performance modification parts or removed emission components in an effort to boost power or enhance performance, as well as whether or not they've performed the regular scheduled maintenance as required by the Ford dealership.
