Toyota Tundra air injection pump making noise.

I own a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The air injection pump is making noise for about 30 secounds at cold start up. It costs a fortune to replace. My first question is, can this system be turned off by way of the computer? Is the smog pump located under the manifold, and can this motor be cleaned? If it is turned off by the computer will the engine go into the limp mode? Toyota tells me there is no TSB for changing this system.
Answer:

The air injection pump can not be disabled via your Tundra's stock ECU. A performace ECU modification can disable the smog pump but cause a smog check failure as well. Note: The pump running for 30-60 seconds during cold start-up is normal and used to heat up the Catalytic Converter. The air injection pump is located beneath the intake manifold. You may remove it for a cleaning though it may not decrease noise much. Usually electric motors will begin whinning when bearings begin to deteriorate.
