I have a Nissan Altima which won't start that I am trying to sell.
I have a non-starting Nissan Altima 2002 that I am trying to sell. My car won't start and I don't know why. Is it possible to get a smog check even if it doesn't run? If so, please explain how and if not how do I sell my car? Answer:
Your Nissan Altima must be running in order to get a smog test. If you want to sell it in its current condition you can sell it as a non-operational vehicle. Have the buyer sign a waiver indicating they are buying the vehicle in non-operational condition and as-is. Indicate this on your Bill-of-Sale and ensure the buyer is fully aware the vehicle has not been smog checked because it will not start.
