Can I register an out-of-state Dodge Grand Caravan in California?
My husband and I just moved to CA. We have two Dodge Grand Caravans (years 2005 and 2000). How much are the emission components for these cars and would labor costs be high to install them? Answer:
There is a difference with California legal and Federal legal emission requirements, however no additional smog parts are needed in order to register a USED out-of-state vehicle in California. As long as the vehicle you intend to register in CA has all the Federal required emission components, it can pass the California smog inspection process and be legally registered in this state, so long as its emissions pass the California smog inspection.
