My Toyota Camry failed the smog test. How much will it cost to fix?
I was told why my Toyota Camry did not pass the smog check. It had to do with the computer and sensors. How much it would cost to fix it? I'm trying to figure out if the car is worth fixing or dumping. Answer:
Your Toyota Camry is a very dependable and reliable car. It is absolutely
worth fixing the smog problem. I can't give you a price on what the smog
check repairs will cost because I don't know what's wrong with the car at
this point, but I can let you know the average smog check repair costs
$350.00. If this is all it costs to get your Toyota fixed, smogged and back
on the road then you've got a good deal. We just want to make sure it's
repaired right and the problem doesn't come back in two years.
Your first step should be to have a certified smog repair station take a
look at your Toyota. You should give them the failed smog check report, but
I'm sure they will want to run their own tests. They will charge a
diagnostic fee to figure out what the problem is. This is normal. I would
just ask the smog mechanic if he/she will guarantee the repairs. So just ask
these questions and if the answers make sense then go for it.
