2002 Nissan Sentra trouble code P0745 and P0740 transmission related code question
Can i bring my 2002 nissan sentra gxe 1.8 engine size to aamco or other transmission place?
need to register my car but wont pass smog due to engine light on. Fault codes p0745 and p0740. Both have to do with transmission. can i bring it to aamco even though its not a smog repair facility if i use cap program? i dont want to waste money bringing it to regular auto place that doesn't specialize in transmissions. im upset that everything is such a hassle and that cap never answers the phone to ask questions
Answer:
If you plan on going through the CAP Vehicle Repair Program to fix your 2002 Nissan Sentra's transmission problem you can not take it to a AAMCO or other transmission shop yourself. You must apply for CAP, get approval, and take your Nissan Sentra to a CAP certified smog check repair station. The smog station will sublet the work to a transmission shop if they need to.
