1982 Fiat 2000 Spider - Is the dealer responsible for the smog check?

Is a car dealer responsible for providing and paying for a smog check? I'm going to buy a 1982 Fiat 2000 Spider. I want to know if the used car dealer is responsible for providing and paying for a smog check?

Answer:

Yes. The dealership needs to smog check this car before selling it. However they are not obligated to pay for the smog test themselves. Most times they will tack on a smog test fee to the vehicle's invoice. posted by SmogTips Support
