2009 Mitsubishi Outlander due for emissions testing in Illinois and moving to California.

2009 Mitsubishi outlander due for emission testing in Illinois. Will be moving to California in less than 15 days after registration due date. Is it better to test in Illinois or wait till I move to California?

Answer:

Do not obtain a smog inspection in another state; it will not be valid here. Once you move to California you'll need to obtain California vehicle registration which will require a Smog Certificate from a California smog station. posted by SmogTips Support
