2005 Nissan Titan Crew Cab CAT Back Exhaust System Upgrade
Hello. I am a resident of California and interested in getting a 'cat back exhaust system'. I understand that it is a serious matter in having your vehicle pass the emissions smog test and I am weary in getting a cat back installed. Because I do want my vehicle to pass. Is it safe to do a cat back exhaust system (magnaflow)? Do you have any recommendations in changing the exhaust system without causing any trouble in order for my vehicle to pass the smog test? Thank you.
Answer:
Be careful with exhaust system modifications. For the most part, modifying the exhaust system after the Catalytic Converter will not cause a smog check problem, except in cases where the exhaust system is modified to a dual exhaust or vice-versa. If you are simply replacing your Nissan Titan current muffler with a Magna Flow muffler, you'll be fine. If it involves any more than that, we'd we weary.
