What are the 49 state federal smog emission components for a 76 Chevy blazer with a 4.1 liter Heavy duty emissions?
I tried smogging my Chevy Blazer at two smog stations today that would not smog my truck because their reference material did not have a 76 chevy blazer 4.1L federal emission for a heavy duty 6200 GVWR. I know exactly what my truck is supposed to have since I have owned it since 1998 and smogged it several times. I need something to show these guys the emission components for my truck and a vacuum diagram as well. Where should I go to get this info?
Answer:
According to the MOTOR Emissions Applications Guide a federal emissions equipped 1976 Chevy 4.1 Liter engine (for GVW 6001 LBS & OVER) needs to be equipped with:
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV), ACL (Preheat Tube - Air filter to heat shield), and Spark control (distributor advance timing control).
