2003 Chevy Trailblazer Camshaft Control Sensor Trouble Code

During the smog check my Chevy Trailblazer showed a Camshaft Control Sensor trouble code. Also a running too lean trouble code came up. The lean trouble code has now disappeared bu the camshaft trouble code is still there. Will the Camshaft code cause my Chevy Trailblazer to fail the smog check?

Answer:

Your Chevy Trailblazer will fail the smog check if ANY trouble codes are present, including a Camshaft Position Sensor trouble code and/or Camshaft Actuator trouble code. In this specific case we are not sure which trouble code is present, the one belonging to the actuator or the position sensor. Both will cause a smog check failure. The Camshaft Position Sensor is located to the right of the Camshaft Solenoid / Actuator. Both are located at the front right side of the engine near the oil filler cap. posted by SmogTips Support
