2007 Toyota Tacoma Presently Out of State Needs Smog Test

CA registered 2007 Toyota Tacoma needs a smog check but it is out of state now. Can I get the smog test here and use it for CA renewal registration?

Answer:

Do not obtain a smog inspection for your 2007 Toyota Tacoma in another state; it will not be valid for California vehicle registration renewal use. Instead, fill out and sign DMV's "Statement of Facts" form explaining that your Toyota Tacoma is out of state, and the registration tags will be mailed to wherever the Toyota truck is currently located. You can obtain a "Statement of Facts" form by calling the California DMV at (800)777-0133 or by downloading it on the internet. posted by SmogTips Support
