I will be driving my 2002 Ford E3500 in California and I need to know what are the requirements of driving an out of state vehicle with a trailer in California?
1. Is the vehicle required to pass California emmisions standards if only in the state for two weeks?
2. Is there a temporary trip pass?
Answer:
There is nothing you need to do in order to legally drive your Ford E3500 in California "temporarily". California requires a vehicle owner obtain a California smog inspection and registration if and when a vehicle owner obtains residence or employment in California. Simply driving through the state or visiting the state does not require California registration.
