Smog Check Buick LeSabre Again This Year

I got my DMV registration renewal notice and it states my Buick LeSabre needs a smog check. I had the smog check done last year. Why do I need a smog check again? I though it's only once every two years.

Contact the DMV first at (800) 777-0133. Check if this is possibly a mistake. The other reason your Buick LeSabre might need a smog check two years in a row is that possibly you purchased this vehicle last year and obtained a smog check for title transfer purposes, and this year the Buick's regular biennial smog check is due. posted by SmogTips Support
