2006 Ford Mustang Used Car Dealership Says CAT is Defective

How can I check to see if my vehicle actually passed the smog test 3 months ago? It is a 2006 Ford Mustang V8.

I recently purchased a this used Ford Mustang and a few days later the check engine light came on. Upon taking it back to the dealer's service department, I was told it was the catalytic converter. The car only had been driven 200 miles since it had "passed" the smog check 3 months ago...is it any way to verify the accuracy of his information using the emissions test?

It is not common that a vehicle passes the smog test and 200 miles later develops a check engine light fault, but it is not impossible either.
