I just went to a local smog check place and he was unable to do the check because he didn't know the timing of the engine. What info is needed to manually input the required data to the smog testing machine? Any idea what that info is for my car (Chrysler New Yorker)?
Answer:
There are three variations for an 1983 Chrysler New Yorker engine ignition timing:
All ignition timing testing must be conducted at the number 1 cylinder and while the engine is at normal operating temperature with jumper wire connected between carburetor switch & ground & spark control computer vacuum hose disconnected & plugged.
