Do I need a smog test if I buy a 2014 Lexus?

Answer:

Vehicles four (4) model years and newer do not need a smog check in order to obtain California registration. This exemption does not apply to vehicles being imported from out of state. So if you're buying this 2014 Lexus in California, and it was previously registered in California, a smog inspection should not be required. posted by SmogTips Support
