2007 Monaco Monarch RV Registration

If I smog tested and promptly parked my RV permanently in 2013 is a Planned non-op (2014) the only way to keep from starting up, traveling to test only to return to the long term park where it lives?

I have not driven it since the last test. Is there a mileage verification/exemption? Mobile smog test company? I hate to pack up the rig just to drive into town. The last time I was nonop and then the next year went to renew on day 1 of the date of requirement to register they tried to make me pay penalties.

I can non-op again but it seemed they did not believe I could just un -nonop on day 1 of the new registration year in person to return it to op. A supervisor had to intervene. I do realize if next year if planning to operate again it would then need a smog test and a temp permit to drive it to test 1st may mean I am late with a registration....Thanks.

Answer:

Unfortunately this is correct. A PNO (planned non-operational permit) is the only way to avoid a smog check; consequently, it disallows you from driving your motorcoach. Also, mobile smog check machines are not existent. Your RV must be driven to a smog check station in order to obtain its smog inspection.
