Will 1977 Chevrolet Camaro Be Smog Exempt in 2017?

1977 Chevrolet Camaro 350 V8 4barrel carb, auto trans, will this car be exempt from smog certification in 2017? Car is non-op now and is being restored at present time.

Answer:

The rolling 30 year smog exemption was repealed in 2005. Currently AB-550 is in the works, which will bring the rolling exemption back and require owners of vehicles' 30 years or older to pay a smog abatement fee of $200 in lieu of getting a smog check, however this bill has not been signed into law as of yet. posted by SmogTips Support
