1995 Honda Accord EX failed high CO and HC emissions
My Honda Accord failed test only smog. My HC:70, C0:.14. How or what can I do to lower my C0 levels? Any basic things from tune up should I pay some attention too? Answer:
The fact that your Honda Accord has high HC and CO indicates it is probably
suffering from a "rich misfire". More then likely your Honda Accord's high
CO is causing high HC (hydro carbons). Before continuing anything other then
a visual look-over, a fuel feedback test must be completed. A smog check
repair station will have to find out why your Honda is producing high CO
(carbon monoxide). A smog check repair station must ensure the oxygen sensor
is working properly, your Honda's emissions computer is receiving the
signals from the oxygen sensor, the computer is computing the data properly
and sending the correct signals to the fuel injectors to either increase or
decrease fuel delivery to the combustion chambers.
