Using Free Retest Offer at Different Smog Station

Do I have to return to the same smog station for a free retest if my car failed the smog test. I do not trust the mechanic to pass my car and I want to get a free retest at a different smog station.

Answer:

Free smog retests are offered at the discretion of the individual smog station. California smog stations are privately owned businesses. A particular smog station's discount/special offer may not be valid at another privately owned smog station. As such, it is unlikely that a different smog check center will honor the free retest offer which you received from the first smog station. posted by SmogTips Support
