Does a 1979 Dodge Pick Up Truck Need a Smog Check?
Do I need to smog my 1979 Dodge truck that I just bought from my neighbor?
Answer:
All 1976 and newer vehice are subject to smog inspections in California. You will need to obtain a smog check in order to transfer this vehicle to your name. Visit a smog station and request a smog check for the purpose of title transfer. The smog station must have a dynomometer, as your vehicle will require a BAR-97 ASM smog check.
