How Can I Find Vehicle Smog Check History?

How can I get the smog check history of a car that I want to buy? Is there a smog check history lookup website I can got to? I'd want to know if the current owner of the car is telling the truth about the car passing the test. He does not have the smog certificate on hand. Thank you.
