The smog station told me I had to get a stock intake box for my 1995 Honda Civic. I found a stock air box but the tube is still aftermarket chrome. Can I still pass the smog check?
Answer:
Air filter units which are not equipped with emission sensors and allow for the proper connection of all existing air intake hoses and vacuum lines are not considered to be emission components (in most cases), and can pass the smog inspection without the requirement to posses an executive order or CARB number. We recommend visiting a smog station or California smog check referee center for final determination on whether this particular intake tube falls under the EO requirement criteria.
