Will I Fail Smog Because of Low Tire Pressure Light And Broken Speedo

Just bought a 2007 Kia Sedona LX. It's registered in Santa Ana but needs a smog inspection. I bought it with with the Check Engine Light (CEL) on & TPMS low tire pressure indicator on. Speedometer & odometer also not working. I was told by the seller to replace input & output sensors. I replaced both input & output sensors. CEL turned off but that may be due to disconnecting the battery. I also put air in tire where indicated by TPMS. Low Tire Indicator light did not go off. My questions: 1) Will Low Tire Pressure Indicator lit (looks like (_!_)) fail my smog test? 2) Will Speedometer & Odometer not working fail my smog test?
Answer:

Neither the tire pressure light nor the broken speedometer/odometer will cause your vehicle to fail the smog inspection. Your KIA can pass the smog check with these lights on. The only light to make sure is not illuminated is the check engine light or MIL malfunction indicator lamp; which is of concern in this case. Since you recently replaced sensors as you've mentioned, the check engine light has turned off more than likely because you disconnected the battery; resetting the computer and clearing the trouble codes. It was the right move, but you now need to drive your KIA through a drive cycle in order for the computer to re-learn/complete the readiness flags (also known as Emission Monitors).
Driving for 200-300 miles over the course of a few days and in both city and highway traffic will accomplish this. In a few days you'll find out if the repairs you made fixed the problem(s) and ensure the check engine light does not turn back on. Your KIA will then be ready for the smog test, and if your planning on getting a smog test in Santa Ana feel free to get a coupon from a SmogTips certified smog station.
