Out of State 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD 5500 Miles
We are interested in purchasing a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD with 5500 miles on the odometer from out of state. I read several posts and they said that if the emission sticker says 50 states it would be able to come to california, but if it says 49 states it would not. The emission sticker says "conforms to regulations California: LEV III ULEV 70 PC OBD: CA II. Would this car be able to be registered in California? Would there be any obstacles to bringing it into the state of California? Thanks. Answer:
If we understand your concern correctly, yes, this vehicle will be eligible for import to California, and subsequently can be issued a California Certificate of Title. Its underhood emissions label indicates the vehicle is California Emissions Certified. Certain make and model vehicles have emission systems which are not and are designed for use in all states except California (49-state emission certified). Such vehicles are unable to obtain California registration.
