2001 Ford Taurus OHV Catalytic Converters Blown Out
I bought a 2001 Ford Taraus approximately 6 months ago. I recently had it smog checked and it failed. The technician said my catalytic converters had been blown out. Will this cause me to be declined from CAP program assistance? Thank you. Answer:
The Consumer Assistance Program is available to you only during your vehicle's biennial smog test cycle. You can only apply for consumer repair assistance when the Department of Motor Vehicles asks for your car to undergo a smog inspection during its registration renewal process. If the reason you obtained (and failed) the smog check) was due to the DMV requiring it for registration renewal, you may apply for CAP assistance.
