1997 Ford Escort, lost smog check certificate. Want to sell this car.

I smogged my car last year (1997 Ford Escort), but lost the receipt. I have sold the car, but am now told by DMV I need to provide the buyer with that darn receipt in order to transfer registration. How can I get a copy/duplicate?

A copy or duplicate of your Ford Escort's smog check from last year will not satisfy the DMV's request for a smog check certificate. Smog certificates are only good for 90 days from the day they are issued. In this specific case, in order to sell your 1997 Ford Escort, you will need to obtain a new smog check.
