1990 Toyota Corolla has 390000 miles. Needs oil.

Is there a particular oil that will help my 1990 Toyota Corolla pass the smog check? such as oil weight, oil brand, synthetic or non synthetic?

There really is no oil to help you PASS the smog check, however we can suggest with the high miles your Toyota Corolla has you may want to use a thicker (heavier weight) oil to help seal the piston rings and reduce blow-by gases... IF your Toyota has any smoking problems. If there is no smoke, no compression loss, no significant interior engine wear, you want to stick with a light oil, one that is going to restrict your engine's rotation cycles the least; in order words, cause the least internal crankcase compression. posted by SmogTips Support
