1990 Toyota Corolla has 390000 miles. Needs oil.

Is there a particular oil that will help my 1990 Toyota Corolla pass the smog check? such as oil weight, oil brand, synthetic or non synthetic?
Answer:

There really is no oil to help you PASS the smog check, however we can suggest with the high miles your Toyota Corolla has you may want to use a thicker (heavier weight) oil to help seal the piston rings and reduce blow-by gases... IF your Toyota has any smoking problems. If there is no smoke, no compression loss, no significant interior engine wear, you want to stick with a light oil, one that is going to restrict your engine's rotation cycles the least; in order words, cause the least internal crankcase compression.
