This vehicle passed the Functional Check and the Emissions Test. The technician said my vehicle failed because of too much smoke coming out of the exhaust. The paper work said this car "failed the visual smoke test." I am confused because I have never seen smoke come out of the exhaust on my car. Is there any way to appeal this test. I am willing to take it to another center for testing. Do you think it would be worth my time? Answer:
No need to appeal the smog test results. You can simply have another smog
inspection station smog check your Mitsubishi for new results. If the second
smog technician makes no indication of a visible smoke test failure, then
your Montero passes.
Technically you're supposed to get the black smoke problem fixed, but if you
say there is no black smoke... Another smog station can verify it.
