The check engine light turns on, i believe its a bad sensor because it stays on for a couple days and then it turns on for a day or two.Should i still get a smog check? Answer:
No... Do not get a smog check... Even if the light is off when you plan on
taking it in. Chances are the faults which trigger the check engine light on
and off also stop the related readiness flags to set. Readiness flags are
certain emissions systems "self-tests" which must be performed inorder for
your vehicle to pass the test.
We recommend you get an emissions system diagnosis first... Find out what is
causing the light to illuminate and then move forward.
