1998 Nissan Altima. Sitting in garage for one year, now needs smog check.

This car sat for one year. Should it be driven around before getting smog tested?
Answer:

Yes, you should absolutely drive your Nissan Altima for at least one week before getting a smog test. You want to engine to re-learn driving conditions and correct it's air/fuel ratio for optimum combustion. Plus you want to check tire pressure. Make sure all four are to your Nissan's tire manufacturer specifications. Plus you might want to get an oil change before the test too. The engine oil sitting in your Nissan for a year could be contaminated.
