2004 Kia Rio failed smog due to Check Engine light being on.

What should I do? I passed all except MIL/Check Engine Light.It is a KIA RIO 2004. 54,000 mis. recent new battery, drive little, short trips.

At this point you'll need to have your Kia inspected by a smog check repair center. They will probably charge an hours worth of labor to find the cause of the illuminated check engine light. At that point they should give you a cost for the repair. your Kia's check engine light could be ON due to many different reasons. Only by using a Trouble Code scan tool can one find the cause of the light being on, and then focus on diagnsing the system/component in question. posted by SmogTips Support
