2005 Nissan Frontier V6 - Is there a difference between a 49 State Legal CAT and a California Legal CAT?

Are the acceptable catalyst parameters allowed by vehicles computer programmed differently for California regulations. Meaning could a 49 state legal cat cause an Check engine light for a vehicle built for sale in California, and not throw the code on a vehicle built for sale in the other 49 states? So the 02 sensor readings fall within the acceptable parameters for 49 states and be out of acceptibility for CA? Or are all vehicles just programmed the same at the Ca Standards?
Answer:

No difference... one is CARB certified, and the other is not. California however will not all a non-CARB certified Catalytic Converter be installed on a vehicle which will be registered in California. As far as we know, the computers are programmed the same except for any additional emission components which a California vehicle might be required to be equipped with such as a Smog Pump.
