Is the smog test for a 2005 Pace Arrow RV different then a car's?
When doing a smog check do they test the same things as with a automobile? and since a RV has a larger engine than a car is it easier to test? Answer:
The smog check is different in the sense that an RV is not driven on a dynomometer during the smog check (if you are in an Enhanced Smog Check area). In a Basic Smog Check area all vehicles are tested the same; at idle and at 2500rpms. The actual emission cutscores are based on the vehicle's engine size, and when being driven on a dynomometer, the vehicle's weight.
