1995 Ford 460 Motorhome failed smog test for high CO.

My RV's CO measured at 2.09. Max allowed was 1.50. Do you know what the problem might be?

There can be several reasons your Ford motorhome might produce high CO. The main reason is usually air/fuel mixture. Your Ford's oxygen sensor might be faulty causing more fuel to enter the combustion chamber then needed; resulting in high CO. It's recommend to have a smog check repair station diagnose your vehicle's fault in order to avoid replacing parts which don't need replacement. A smog repair station will been diagnosis with a quick look over of the engine; ensuring everything is hooked up properly, nothing appears loose or damaged, and than move on to a more in-depth diagnosis of the fuel management system and ignition system. posted by SmogTips Support
