2002 BMW M3 failed emissions test... been sitting in the garage for 2 months.

2002 BMW M3 failed emissions test; doubled the max level; car has been sitting in the garage for 2 months... Does that have something to do with it as I have not drove it for more than 20 minutes.

We recommend driving your BMW for at least a day or two prior to having it retested, and make sure it's nice and hot before the smog test. BMWs heavily rely on their Catalytic Converters for emission reduction. You want to make sure the CAT is hot enough to function efficiently. posted by SmogTips Support
