Getting a diagnostic every time at 3 different ASE mechanic shops. I have failed 5 times for HIGH NOx levels. I have replaced the CAT, oxygen sensor, MAP sensor, intake manifold gasket , exhaust manifold, injector seals, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, .... Each fix was diagnosed by a mechanic telling me this is the problem. Still failing and running out of money. PLEASE HELP
Answer:
It seems you've repaired everything on this Jeep Cherokee which could be responsible for high NO. This vehicle is not equipped with an EGR system, so NOx emissions are controlled mainly by air/fuel mixture and the catalytic converter. We can only recommend the next repair shop be a smog check certified smog repair station. They will need to your their smog machines 5 gas analyzer to accurately locate your Jeep high NO emissions problem.
