I can not find an Acura TL EVAP canister to pass the smog check.

1996 Acura TL 2.5, What do you do if the part needed to pass the inspection is no longer manufactured, stocked, or has no replacement part? EVAP Canister I've taken my 16year old car to a reliable Honda Acura repair shop sine the day I bought it. Neither they or I can locate part #17300 SW5 A31 (EVAP Canister) needed to pass the inspection. The part has not been manufactured in years. We have found no replacement or substitute for this part. Ebay, Craigslist all tried. There are listing but once called no one actually has the part to sell. What to do? Can my car get an CA exemption?
