Registering an out-of-state Nissan Altima in California.

MY DAUGHTER IS MOVING FROM NJ TO LA WITH A 1998 NISSAN ALTIMA AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT MIGHT BE INVOLVED IN GETTING THE VEHICLE TO PASS THE CALIFORNIA SMOG TEST.
Answer:

As long as your Nissan Altima has not had its emission system tampered with it can pass the California smog check without any modification or added expense. The vehicle should have been properly maintained though. California has strict emission level cutscores. posted by SmogTips Support
