Geo Prizm smog parts no longer available

I own a 1996 Geo Prizm sedan, that has failed my last required smog test. In 2011, I was granted an exemption due to not locating a catalytic converter. Because of California's emissions standards, and the converter is no longer manufactured, it will not be possible to have the vehicle pass in the future. How long will DMV continue to grant me exemptions?
Answer:

The limited parts exemption is a one-time two-year smog check waiver. You may want to contact the State smog check referee's office to see if further exemptions can be made for your Geo Prizm. Referee Contact: (800) 622-7733.
