I want to retire my 1996 Dodge Stratus. Do I mail the retirement application first or get a smog check first?
When do you send in the application to see if you qualify to retire a car?
Am i supposed to go get my car smogged THEN if it fails send in the application to retire it or do i send in the application first to see if i qualify then go get my car smogged and see if it passes? Answer:
You'll need to get your Dodge smog tested first. Your Dodge will only be
eligible for the Cap retirement program IF it fails the smog check. You can
have the application ready to mail out in the event your Dodge does fail.
You'll need to send a copy of the failed smog test results with the
retirement or vehicle buy back application.
