My 1999 Honda Accord needs a STAR smog check

I have a 99 Honda Accord. I was notified by the DMV that I need to go to a Star Smog Station for my smog check. Can you please tell me where a Star Smog Station is in my area? My registration is due soon so I would like to get my smog check as soon as possible. Can I forgo the Star smog station and visit a regular smog station?

Answer:

The DMV started requesting STAR smog checks for vehicle registration renewal notices which are due after the new year. In the interim (before Jan 1st, 2013) you may visit a Test Only or Gold Shield smog station whenever the DMV requests a STAR certified smog check; just as if they had asked you to smog check your Honda Accord at Test Only or Gold Shield Station.
