1993 Acura Integra Overheating Failed High NO

I have 93 acura integra and it failed emission test I had measured 15 mph 2652 NOx the max is 495 and 2373 NOx 25 mph could this be from my car overheating from the radiator fans not kicking on?

Answer:

Your Acura overheating can cause high NOx. Nitrous Oxide or NO is created when an engine's combustion chamber temperature reaches over 2500F. Acura has designed several systems, which when working properly, lower nitrous oxide emissions.

First and foremost however you want to ensure your Acura does not have an overheating problem. From there you can check for a properly functioning EGR valve (if equipped), proper Air/Fuel ratio; a lean fuel condition will cause high NO as well, high compression, and finally a properly functioning Catalytic Converter.
