2007 Chevy Avalanche Mileage Readout Odometer Not Working

Hi, we have a 2007 Chevy Avalanche - the instrument panel that displays the mileage is not working. Will this impede our ability to get a smog check?

Your Chevy Avalanche will not fail the smog test if the odometer is not working. You must make sure however that the problem causing the odometer to malfunction is also not causing any emission system electrical problems. A good indication that the odometer is causing emission problems is the "Check Engine Light" being illuminated. If no check engine light is on, and the only problem is a failed odometer, you should not have a problem getting a smog test, the smog technician will enter "none" for the mileage question on the smog machine. posted by SmogTips Support
