Air Scoop for 2006 Mustang GT Smog Check Visual Inspection

Question regarding functional hood scoop modification on a 2006 mustang gt. I've heard that the CDC shaker system for the Mustang GT is considered an appearance item but it does require a tube to be connected to the stock air box. I don't know if this will mean I have to have a C.A.R.B eo # for the smog test(visual). From what I know, this item does not have an eo number. If someone can help me, I'd be very grateful.

Answer:

A cold air intake without a CARB-approved EO number will not pass a visual smog inspection. In rare cases a vehicle can pass the smog check with an aftermarket air intake unit which has no vacuum lines connecting it to the intake manifold or mass air flow sensor. If a single connection, whether vacuum or electronic, is required during installation of an air intake unit it is required that the component possess an EO number.
