1985 Toyota 4Runner Registered in Arizona Moving to CA

Hi, I'm currently storing a 1985 4Runner (FED/NON-CA emissions model) in CA but it's registered in AZ. AZ requires a smog test but I'm worried it might fail the stricter CA emissions test? Thx!

Answer:

California's emissions test is a bit stricter however if your Toyota 4Runner, if well maintained, should be able to pass the California smog check. We recommend you obtain an Arizona smog test and compare the emission numbers (CO, HC and NO) with California emission custscores for your SUV. The website you want to access in order to find out your Toyota 4Runner's current California emission cut scores is below. It will give you current HC, CO, and NOx emission limits.
